Created in 1937 with the purpose of administering funds legislated through the Social Security Act of 1935 to provide relief to needy families, children and aged, blind and disabled adults, the DeKalb County Division of Family and Children Services' (DFCS) mission has expanded to include "protecting vulnerable children and adults and improving the social and economic well-being of families." This is just one of the several offices handling DeKalb County DFCS services. If you need to get to this office, it's within easy walking distance of the MARTA Avondale station.
