Concord Baptist Church was founded in 1837 under a shady tree about one mile from the current church location. Through the years the congregation has grown and a number of buildings have been added.
The church building that was built in 1948 is now a small Chapel and an education building for Sunday school and children's ministry activities. In May 1991, a new church building was dedicated to meet the needs of the expanded congregation. The church today includes the Family Life Center, Fellowship Hall, and a multi-floor education building. The church offers numerous ministries and programs. There's Hope Food Bank Ministry distributes food once a month to families in the community. Sunday worship services are at 11:00am and 6:00pm. Dr. Lester Cooper is Senior Pastor and is supported by a dedicated staff. One of the oldest and largest cemeteries in the area is located at Concord Church. It is home to Civil War, WWI, WWII, Korea and Vietnam veterans.
