As most cottage industries, Mom Pop shops they start off with a hobby. Kids grow up and Mom gets a hobby. I have always been a creative craft person so I got into custom painting glassware. Before you know it I am showing at craft shows and building a website. 10 years later I am off and running and expanded my repertoire based on clients requests to include hand painted pillows, furniture, signs. I even had a request for a hand painted toliet seat. That is the fun and creative part of the business. Custom painting something the client really wants. It will be interesting to see where I am in the next 10 years.
