Located in Carrollton, Ga., Carroll County Public Works and Road Department provides maintenance on county roadways and rights-of-way. The department is involved in the upkeep of paved roads, and construction and paving of dirt roads. Its daily maintenance procedures also include vegetation control on rights-of-way, and traffic signs and pothole patching. Its forestry and grounds division maintains the parkway trees along streets and offers services, such as preventing disease and decay problems, gypsy moths, insect problems, mulching and woodchips, brush disposals, and planting parkway trees. Its street maintenance division maintains the city s street infrastructure that includes crack sealing, cleaning and sweeping of streets, pavement markings, and curb and gutter repairs. Carroll County Public Works and Road Department has civilian employees and correctional officers who work in cooperation with the inmates housed in the Carroll County Prison.
