The Emergency Department, a part of the South Georgia Medical Center, is a 15-plus-bed facility that provides 24-hour emergency medical services. It serves more than 3,800 patients each month. The department operates a chest pain center and clinical decision unit. The Emergency Department handles cases related to accidents, illnesses and traumas. It uses the McKesson Patient Location Tracker and the Picture Archiving and Communication (PACS) technologies. The South Georgia Medical Center is a 300-plus-bed, nonprofit hospital that serves patients in southern Georgia and northern Florida. It provides occupational medicine, urgent care, medical imaging, surgical, laboratory and mobile health care services. The hospital employs over 2,300 people.
