Bishop Kenny High School
Bishop Kenny High School, located in Jacksonville, Fla., is a four-year Catholic college-preparatory school that was established in 1952. The school enrolls more than 1,400 students in grades nine through 12. Its curriculum includes English, mathematics, foreign languages, performing arts, science and social studies. It also provides SAT and ACT preparation classes and the Navy Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps program. Additionally, the school provides advanced-placement courses in English language and literature, biology, chemistry, United States history, calculus, statistics and Spanish. It also provides honors courses in English, anatomy, physiology, American government, economics, French, German and Latin. Bishop Kenny High School has a media center that offers more than 14,000 books, periodicals, fiction and nonfiction books, audiovisual aids and computer workstations. Additionally, the school organizes various extracurricular activities, such as art, band, drama, chorus and debate competitions. It also provides various sports activities, such as baseball, basketball, football, cross country, wrestling and tennis. Bishop Kenny High School is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
