This is a must-see for fans of the UGA athletics. It houses offices of the University of Georgia Athletic Department's administration, as well as a sports museum featuring an extensive display of individual and team athletic achievements and memorabilia. The distinctive building, a glossy black box erected on a base of red granite (the UGA school colors are red and black), is topped by a modernistic skylight, a portion of a geodesic dome. The Butts-Mehre building, located at the extreme southern boundary of the UGA campus, stands between Lumpkin and Rutherford streets on Pinecrest Drive next to the UGA track.
