Bobby Dodd Stadium is a stadium located in Atlanta, Georgia on the campus of the Georgia Institute of Technology. Bobby Dodd Stadium currently houses the NCAA team the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. The stadium opened as Grant Field on September 27, 1913 with the construction taking just over ten months at a cost of just over $15,000, $353,000 in present day dollars. The latest renovation was in 2003, which added over 12,000 seats at a cost of $75 million.
The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets are members of the Atlantic Coast Conference of the within National Collegiate Athletic Association. They are known by their team colors consisting of black, white and gold. Their mascot is Buzz & Ramblin’ Wreck. Past players include Steven Hill, Kevin Cone and Demaryius Thomas.
The stadium currently holds 55,000 fans. Currently, it is the 57th largest stadium in the NCAA. The record fan attendance of 60,316 occurred in 1973 against the rival Georgia Bulldogs. In terms of parking there is on-campus parking and satellite parking lots both containing general and reserved spots.
Season tickets are available with prices starting around $190. Individual tickets start at about $25 depending on the game. Tickets are available through the team website and ticket exchanges.
