Ben Hill is a landmark Southwest Atlanta church with deep roots in the community and a history stretching back almost 150 years.
According to the church's vision statement, Ben Hill "is to equip and empower the body of Christ with a Biblically based, global Christian Ministry of love and concern through wholistic worship, training, care, evangelism, outreach and social consciousness to serve all God's people."
Led by the Rev. Richard Winn, who was the first African-American student minister of the church in the early 1970s, when the congregation was still largely white, Ben Hill has more than 48 ministries divided into seven main "vision areas." The church provides Internet live streaming of both the 7:45 a.m. and 9:45 a.m. services.
