Alpharetta Fire and Emergency Services is a department of the city of Alpharetta, Ga. It provides fire and emergency medical services to save lives and minimize the loss of property through prevention and education. Its fire inspection division prevents fire deaths and injuries and reduces fire losses through a program of building inspections, plan reviews, issuance of permits, development and interpretation of ordinances and prosecution of violators. Its suppression division responds to all calls that involve fire events, medical emergencies, motor vehicle accidents, hazardous materials and technical rescue. Its community emergency response team program educates people about disaster preparedness and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search, and rescue and disaster medical operations.
