Water, Gas and Light Commission is governed by the city of Albany, Ga. The commission was founded in 1892 and provides water, gas and light services. It serves more than 27,000 residential, commercial and industrial customers with natural gas. It provides services 24 hours, seven days a week. The commission s electric power system has nearly 600 miles of power lines and allocates hydroelectric power through Southeastern Power Administration and Municipal Electric Authority of Georgia. Additionally, it provides sewer and garbage services. The commission also offers online energy saving tips to consumers. Water, Gas and Light Commission also offers educational programs for kids.
