The Adams Park Library is one of 34 branches in the Atlanta-Fulton Public Library System. The 7,500-square-foot building houses 34,500 books, videos, CDs, periodicals, large-print books and reference materials, and a 75-seat meeting facility.
The community library, however, is more than a quiet place for reading. Branch Manager Celeste Gibson said the center offers numerous community events, guest speakers and services throughout the year, including an annual summer reading program for everyone from pre-schoolers to high school seniors.
Adams Park is one of 25 branches in the Atlanta-Fulton Public Library System slated for renovation or expansion in 2012 and 2013. In addition to the renovations, the system plans to build a new 85-million-dollar central library and eight new branch libraries.
