The West Sebring Volunteer Fire Department Inc Board of Directors announces the start of the firefighters fund drive. During the Annual Fund Drive the Board along with the firefighters will embark on their yearly task of raising the much needed funding to support the fire district and the mission of providing world class fire protection. In the next few days the first phase of the fund drive will start, around 15, 000 letters will be mailed to the property owners in the protection area. The letter updates the community we serve with the status of the fire department as well as asks them to make their annual donation to support us in accomplishing our mission for the next year. When asked about what this fund drive means to the department, Chief Scott Mann said this drive is our life blood. West Sebring Fire Rescue has an aggressive plan to give the superior fire protection from the best trained firefighters in the safest way possible. Our team works daily to improve the level of protection and we cannot do it with out the support of our citizens. Major projects due for completion this year are, a new front line engine with the latest technology to make our citizens and firefighters safer as well as the new fire station located on Hammock Road to enhance the coverage and protection of the citizens in that area of the district. Chief Mann said, I'm worried this year ; it's been a tough year this year. However, he knows how our citizens respond, he is confident that everyone will do what they can and looks for the businesses and the members of the community that can give extra will step up to support their fire department.
