Board-certified retina specialist Dr. Waldemar Torres began his training at Ponce School of Medicine where he graduated in the top 5% of his class. He then completed his internship at Wilson Memorial-Binghamton Hospital followed by ophthalmology residency at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital. After serving as Chief Resident of Ophthalmology, he completed an additional two-year fellowship specializing in medical and surgical retina. Dr. Torres has experience managing a full spectrum of diseases of the retina and vitreous in the Tampa Bay area since 2005. His particular interest is in age related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and retina surgery.
