History
1996 Four families had a burden to begin a Bible-believing, independent Baptist church in central Florida. These families began meeting in their homes for Bible study. The group decided to rent a storefront building in Orange City, Florida and began holding services on Thursday evening and on Sunday mornings and evenings. They called Dr. Reynolds as their pastor and formed the Volusia County Baptist Church. The church grew rapidly and purchased property at 261 S. Orange Avenue. Present The church began the process of constructing a new building to accommodate the large number of people. In November of 2007, the 1100 seat auditorium was dedicated and is the place of worship today. In October of 2016, after twenty years, Dr. Reynolds retired as the pastor of VCBC. The Associate Pastor, Mark Siers took the position of senior pastor.
Specialties
Volusia County Baptist Church is an independent, Bible believing church which strives to impact our area with the Gospel of Jesus Christ (Acts 1:8). Our church selects and supports missionaries who will partner with us to reach the lost around the world (Mark 16:15). As an independent church we do not have a denominational headquarters. We depend upon the Holy Spirit for power and leadership in our ministry (Acts 13:1-3). We know that God blesses people more than programs and we are thankful that the Lord keeps sending us wonderful people to be part of His church. We would love the privilege of meeting you so please visit with us as soon as you can!
