The College of Veterinary Medicine is an educational institution that offers a variety of teaching, research and patient care services. It specializes in the areas of scientific research, traditional small and large animal practice, zoological and aquatic medicine, public health and epidemiology. The college operates through infectious diseases and pathology, large animal clinical sciences, physiological sciences and small animal clinical sciences departments. Its major research programs include aquatic animal diseases, reproduction, gastroenterology, immunology, gait analysis, and food animal production medicine. It is a part of the University of Florida, which offers a range of degree, certificate and technical training programs. The College of Veterinary Medicine has been operational since 1980 and is located in Gainesville, Fla.
