The Apopka Highland Seventh-day Adventist Church started in 1955 with 36 charter members and moved to its present location two years later. Its Sabbath school program has classes every Saturday for children, teen-agers and adults and is a time for study of the Bible, spiritual discussions and interaction. The church has a children s division and a welfare center where the needy can receive food and clothing, a social hall, kitchen, youth chapel and a community service center in addition to offices and restrooms. It also offers a day care center to serve parents with young children where teachers provide educational programs and activities.
