Established in 1952, Tropic Oil Company is still owned and operated by the original family who started the firm. It is currently located on 5 1/2 acres in Medley, Florida, an area in northwest Miami-Dade County.At the Tropic Oil compound you will find its corporate offices, a 900,000- gallon tank farm, and a large warehouse stocked with ExxonMobil, Shell, Fina, Vickers, and Conoco Phillips-branded lubricants as well as fuels for a variety of applications in the commercial, industrial, aviation and marine industries.Tropic Oil’s plant is easily accessible from the Palmetto Expressway, Florida Turnpike or Okeechobee Road (US-27) and has its own rail spur, enabling it to receive up to four 23,000-gallon rail cars of bulk oil simultaneously. This gives Tropic Oil the ability to receive many products in enormous quantities at a lower freight cost that is then passed on to customers.Tropic Oil Company owns its own truck fleet to service all customers’ needs on a timely basis.
