Tampa Catholic High School is coed and affiliated with the Roman Catholic church. It was founded in 1962 by the Diocese of St. Petersburg to serve the families of Hillsborough and Pasco counties. The school's administrative leadership changed a number of times over the years, and in 1984 it was assumed by the Congregation of Christian Brothers.
Tampa Catholic offers an honors program, a college-prep program and an academic assistance program. More than 99 percent of Tampa Catholic graduates go on to attend a college or university. Students are required to study four years of theology, attend religious services and perform 20 hours of community service each year.
Tuition for the 2010-11 school year was $8,760 for students whose parents are identified as parish-supporting and $11,090 for all others. The school colors are green and white. In 1965, the mascot was changed from the Colts to the Crusaders.
