Located in Tallahassee, Fla., the Agency for Health Care Administration is responsible for health facility licensing, inspection and regulatory enforcement tasks. The agency investigates consumer complaints related to health care facilities and managed care plans. It operates an administrative services office that is comprised of budget services, information technology, human resources, and finance and accounting bureaus. The Agency for Health Care Administration also maintains a communications office that is responsible for the press office, as well as community relations maintenance, multimedia design, and public records request and correspondence handling. In addition, the agency operates a bureau of long-term care services that oversees the regulation of nursing homes, assisted living facilities and long-term care provider programs. The Agency for Health Care Administration maintains several adult day care centers, health care clinics, nursing homes and transitional living facilities.
