This sprawling 18-acre, tree-laden campground lends itself to children with medical, physical, mental and emotional illnesses and challenges.
Their mission: "To ensure that all Special Needs Children have the opportunity to experience the same fun and joy of camping that we did as children and thereby enrich them in body, mind, and spirit."
As a nonprofit, Rotary Camp tries to make the site available to other organizations that serve the special-needs population.
Rotary Clubs throughout Florida can reserve space for their own special event, retreat or charity function. Organizations implement their personal agenda, programs and activities as they see fit, with full use of the property's seven cabins (space for 110 people), assembly hall, full kitchen, pavilion, library, junior Olympic-size pool, garden, archery range, BB gun range, gazebo, playground area, basketball court, playground, volleyball court, driving range and putting green, campfire ring and much more.
Supplies are included: sporting equipment, arts and crafts, board games, prizes and costumes. The camp staff can also provide creative ideas to ensure that a group has a wonderful time all day.
