History
New Times Best Nursery of Miami in 2005 and 2010. As Richard Lyons retired from his legal practice, he took the opportunity to pursue his life-long passion for plants. Richard Lyons Nursery, Inc. grew from that love of plants and gardening. His children recall growing up in home full of fragrant and colorful, tropical and exotic fruits from their own yard. Richard's grandsons continue the family tradition of eating fresh carambolas and other fruits while sitting in the trees where they were picked. Richard Lyons Nursery is a gardener's dream come true, with 10 acres of tropical fruit and flowering trees, plants, palms, bamboo, heliconia, shade plants, natives and exotic tropical plants as well. Richard can often be found giving tours of the nursery from one of his golf carts. Richard Lyons Nursery is now known as the place to find unusual and exotic items for the avid gardener and professional landscapers.
