Founded in 1992, Putnam County Emergency Medical Services is operated by the Office of Emergency Medical Services, Department of H.R.S. in Florida. It provides speakers for civic organizations, schools, businesses and private groups. The unit operates the Putnam County rescue units. Putnam County Emergency Medical Services employs more than 60 full-time and over 10 part-time people who staff nearly 8 rescue units located at stations in Putnam County. The county operates several departments, including administration, volunteer fire service and information technology.
