Polk County Clerk of the Circuit Court is the ex-officio clerk of the Board of County Commissioners, as well as auditor, recorder and custodian of all county funds. In 1973, the Florida Constitution created a unified Clerk of the Circuit Court for Polk County. The clerk is the chief financial officer for the county and serves as the comptroller and treasurer. It also keeps records and makes required reports of monies received and disbursed by the board. Located in Bartow, Fla., Polk County Clerk of the Circuit Court is also responsible for investing surplus county funds. The clerk operates administration, finance & accounting, and records and associated services departments.
