Since opening in 1985, the Pensacola Civic Center has hosted some of the biggest names in the entertainment business, including Cher, KISS, Elton John and Kenny Chesney. Owned by the government of Escambia County, Fla., and managed by SMG, the world s largest private management company for public facilities, The Pensacola Civic Center is a 10,000-plus seat arena with more than 20,000 square feet of exhibition space. The facility has 12 versatile meeting rooms. With more than 13,000 square feet of meeting space available with full service on-site or off-site catering, the Pensacola Civic Center has hosted thousands of banquets. The facility routinely hosts trade shows, regional sporting events, graduation ceremonies and weddings. The addition of a $2.1 million ice plant in 1996 made the facility home to the Pensacola Ice Pilots. The ice rink is also used for public skating, birthday parties, figure skating, and amateur hockey. The Pensacola Civic Center is located in Pensacola, Fla.
