The huge bay-front park is the crown jewel of outdoor spaces in downtown St. Pete. Some people refer to North Shore Park as the public green space that extends from Coffee Pot Bayou and the Snell Isle Bridge to Vinoy Park. It is part of a series of contiguous waterfront parks, with jogging trails, tennis courts, ball fields, benches and plenty of room to picnic. It also is home to the North Shore Aquatic Complex. The park itself has well-maintained grassy areas with unobstructed views of Tampa Bay and the city-owned pier, bathed at night in bright colorful lights that change hues like a giant mood ring. It's not unusual to spot a blue egret on the sea wall or a wild dolphin cresting in the bay.
