Nicholas Cortolillo, M.D., is a vascular surgeon with Baptist Health Heart & Vascular Care. Dr. Cortolillo treats the entire spectrum of vascular disease, with an emphasis in complex endovascular methods. He is fluent in English and Spanish. Dr. Cortolillo is also a clinical associate professor who teaches vascular surgery at Florida Atlantic University and University of Miami. Before joining Baptist Health in 2022, Dr. Cortolillo completed his vascular surgery fellowship at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago. During his fellowship, he ranked top among his peers in excellence and vascular surgical skills. Dr. Cortolillo’s research has been published in multiple medical journals, including Annals of Vascular Surgery, Journal of Robotic Surgery, Journal of Trauma Acute Care Surgery and Pediatric Surgery International. His research focuses on improving patients’ experience and quality of life after surgery. Dr. Cortolillo belongs to American College of Surgeons, Society of Vascular Surgery and American Medical Association. Dr. Cortolillo’s patient care philosophy began to develop at age 11 when his father received life-saving vascular surgery. He believes long-term relationships with his patients improve their quality of life. He is also passionate about using nonsurgical treatments tailored to each patient whenever possible. When he is not treating patients, Dr. Cortolillo enjoys hockey, soccer, boating, woodworking, antique refurbishing and maybe a game or two of poker.
