As a mental health counselor and competitive athlete, I combine psychotherapy and physical movements to help people deal with their issues, feel empowered and have the courage to take the steps to feel better. Helping one feel authentic is the important goal and this happens through careful understanding, warmth and strength. Movement and Active Psychology (MAP Therapy Founder) is using the natural feel good state-of-mind of exercise to apply psychological interventions. While we are active, you have the unique window for us to access feelings, problems and solutions, we might not otherwise have discovered. Each person is a powerful and strong individual, however, at times we lose focus or cannot access the resources we have within to deal with our issues. Each person, in some way, has the skills and abilities to accomplish their goals and create a peaceful mindset. Through MAP Therapy we, together, can map out the right direction to reach your destination. Additionally, we explore the blocks that have been getting in the way of your success. The route word of courage is ceur, french for whole hearted, which in athletics, a strong core is the most important part to victory. I invite you into my practice, whole heartedly, and look forward to being with you every step of the way.
