Opened in 1957, the Miami Beach Convention Center is located in Miami Beach, Fla. The center served as the site where Cassius Clay defeated Sonny Liston for his first World Heavyweight Championship of the World in 1964. It hosts various convention industry events, including annual meetings of the Professional Convention Management Association and the International Association for Exposition Management. The Miami Beach Convention Center also organizes several annual trade shows, such as the Jewelers International Showcase, Graphics of the Americas and International Boatbuilders Exhibition. The center additionally hosts public events, including the Miami International Boat Show and South Florida International Auto Show.
