McLane Suneast, a division of the McLane Company, originated in 1985 in Lakeland, Fla., when it purchased a Florida convenience store business from Fleming Foods. In 1986, the division moved to its newly constructed facility in Kissimmee, Fla. The population growth in the state of Florida and the phenomenal growth of business are reflected in the fact that Suneast has undergone four major expansions, now totaling approximately 500,000 square feet. It delivers to more than 3,000 convenience and other specialty stores each week throughout the state of Florida. McLane Suneast has established itself as one of the premier employers in the Kissimmee and Orlando areas and proudly reflects the unique diversity of the Central Florida region. The McLane Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway, employs some 14,000 people nationwide. It is headquartered in Temple, Texas.
