The Original Lanai Light was developed by Bob Steele who, in 2006, was looking for a way to light up his dark lanai while not lighting up his neighbors at the same time. The light he wanted needed to be made for outdoor use, be safe, low-voltage and durable. When he was unsuccessful in finding a product to meet his needs, he set out to create his own.
