The Jacksonville Port Authority, also known as JAXPORT, is an international trade seaport in northeastern Florida. It is an independent government agency that operates owns and operates several public marine terminals. Established in 1963, the authority s cargo terminals handle container, automobile, bulk and refrigerated cargoes. The Jacksonville Port Authority offers cruise passenger and local ferry services in the Jacksonville community in Florida. The authority s Blount Island Marine Terminal is spread across an area of more than 750 acres and includes a berthing space and dockside transit shed. It has a fleet of over 10 container cranes and offers refrigerated and freezer warehousing services. The Jacksonville Port Authority also provides tariff scheduling solutions. The authority manages a staff of nearly 145 employees. With annual revenues of approximately $2.5 billion, it operates seaport security, cruise operations and business development divisions.
