The Lions is a charitable organization operating in almost every country of the world. Best known for helping disadvantaged people to obtain eyeglasses, the ground is also involved with various education and child welfare issues. The local Gulfport clubhouse is adjacent to the Gulfport Municipal Marina and is available to the public for wedding receptions and other events.
