Giovanni Paraliticci, M.D., is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in oncology, adult hip and knee replacements, and sarcoma and connective tissue surgical oncology for Baptist Health Orthopedic Care and Miami Cancer Institute, part of Baptist Health South Florida. He is fluent in English and Spanish. Committed to improving the lives of people battling cancer, Dr. Paraliticci provides surgical care for a range of oncology-related concerns. He surgically treats musculoskeletal tumors, including benign and malignant bone and soft tissue tumors along with metastatic lesions. He also treats fractures, arthritis, avascular necrosis (bone tissue death) and osteoporosis (weak bones). Using advanced technology such as robotic surgery and 3D prosthetic modeling, he performs total and partial knee and hip replacements. Prior to joining Baptist Health, Dr. Paraliticci finished his first fellowship in musculoskeletal oncology at University of Miami’s Jackson Memorial Hospital before completing his adult hip and knee reconstruction fellowship at Baptist Health. After earning his medical degree from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine, Dr. Paraliticci completed both his general surgery residency and orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Puerto Rico. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Paraliticci is a faculty member for Baptist Health Orthopedic Care’s Adult Hip and Knee Reconstruction Fellowship program. He enjoys giving back to his community by educating the next generation of orthopedic fellows. After deciding in sixth grade that he wanted to be a surgeon, Dr. Paraliticci dedicated his life to helping people. Believing that a little positivity goes a long way, he begins every appointment with a smile. Dr. Paraliticci sees his patients as an integral part of the Baptist Health family and stays by their side through every step of their journey. He takes the time to discuss all aspects of treatment with his patients before reaching a shared decision about their care. Committed to improving both functionality and quality of life for his patients, Dr. Paraliticci and his team tailor treatment plans to fit each individual’s unique needs. His hope for his patients is that they feel loved and special, and they can enjoy life with the people who mean the most to them. Outside of work, Dr. Paraliticci enjoys spending quality time with his wife and two children.
