History
Since 2012 Gulf Coast Leisure has developed nightlife events, summer celebrations, community outreach by collaborating with local non-profits and our first and longest running event the renowned Art & Poetry Networking event (APNE), third Thursday of the month. GCL started out as a need that was missing in the area, the ability to self-express and be yourself on a stage in the SWFL community that would be monthly but more importantly consistent. J-Bistro, located in Cape Coral, recognized the need to bring the community together and believed in GCL's mission and partnered as a venue. In the first few months, we were such a success that we out grew our space by word of mouth. Bottom line, we all have something to express and we needed more space to do it. The Sidney & Berne Davis art center was the perfect home for the GCL movement that was being created, and as they say, the rest is history. GCL then created the underground gritty version of APNE, the infamous Speak My Peace (SMP) Open
