Florida School for the Deaf and the Blind has been operational for more than 90 years. Located in St. Augustine, Fla., it is one of the leading public schools for eligible hearing mpaired and visually impaired students. The school enrolls more than 1,000 students in prekindergarten through grade 12. Spread on more than 50-acres of land, it has over 50 buildings. The school is approved by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Conference of Educational Administrators Serving the Deaf and National Accreditation Council for Agencies Serving the Blind and Visually Handicapped. It provides several primary, and post-secondary educational activities, gifted and talented students programs, and special modules for the learning-disabled children. Additionally, the school s support services include a 24-hour health care center, specialty clinics, speech and language therapies, low-vision clinic, mobility training, and adaptive physical education.
