Founded in 1950, the Ladies Professional Golf Association, also known as the LPGA, is one of the longest running women's sports associations in the world. Headquarters in Daytona Beach, Fla., it is a nonprofit organization for female professional golfers. LPGA organizes various tournaments, including ADT Championship, Kraft Nabisco Championship, Solheim Cup, McDonald's LPGA Championship, U.S. Women's Open Championship and Weetabix Women's British Open. Its teaching and club professional staff includes more than 1,200 members, and offers teaching, coaching, business management and leadership skills training programs and conferences, tournaments, employment services, online education and junior golf programs. It also offers golf clinics, player development programs and learning programs for 7- to 17-year old girls.
