Dr. R.C. Landsberger has led the flock at Colonial Baptist from its beginning, overseeing the church's founding with his family in February 1981. He and his son, James D. Landsberger, serve as co-pastors for this congregation of about 100. Palm trees are plentiful in the front of the church's eight acres of land, where visitors will also find an outdoor baptismal.
The church sponsors a Bible institute, which sends preachers to other parts of the country as part of a three-year training. It is also heavily involved in missionary work around the globe. There is also a kids' program for children up to age 12, and the church's teens take part in service to the community. Colonial Baptist celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2011.
