Age's Art and Frame opened on Thanksgiving Day in 1969 because of a typo in the ad of the local newspaper that left out the phrase "the day after." The owners didn't really think anyone would show up, but they opened their doors just in case. As it turned out, it was a very busy day.
Age's does custom framing and matting and also carries ready-made frames and mats. The store has an extensive selection of frame moldings to choose from, including metal, wood and gilded varieties. It frames paintings, prints, photos, mirrors, collector plates, sports memorabilia and other collectibles. It will also custom frame anything customers bring in. Case in point: Once, the store framed a cured elephant ear that had a painting on it for a safari big game hunter. Take a look through the photos for some samples of the work they do.
Age's also carries a large variety of unframed prints, and the staff will be happy to frame them; it also offers photo resoration services and is a member of the Professional Picture Framers Association.
