American Welding Society, founded in 1919, is a nonprofit organization that provides education and information for science, technology and application of welding and related joining disciplines. American Welding Society offers a variety of research and study projects in partnership with government, private institutes and individuals. It organizes various education seminars and offers several certifications, programs for welding inspectors, radiographic interpreters, welding supervisors, robotic arc welders, certified welding engineers and welding fabricators. Its American Welding Society Foundation supports programs for the welding industry and provides funds for welding engineering undergraduates and fellowships for welding research. It publishes various publications, including Welding Metallurgy, Welding Handbooks Welding Encyclopedia, The Professional's Advisors and The Practical References Guides. American Welding Society is located in Miami.
