Established in 1976, Fayette County Health Department is a provider of home health, hospice, environmental health, public health and maternal/child health programs. Based in Vandalia, Ill., the department conducts plan reviews, permitting and final installation inspections for new and renovated private sewage disposal systems. It also inspects food-service establishments to ensure compliance with the Illinois Food Service Sanitation Code and the Fayette County Food Sanitation Ordinance. In addition, the department offers programs focusing on environmental health, medication management and diabetes program.
