History
Wagshal's started as a Restaurant in 1925, and when they moved to it's current location in 1939, they began what is the oldest delicatessen in Washington DC. It was purchased by Bill Fuchs in 1990 and shortly thereafter he noticed that D.C. didn't have enough old world butchers that carried the finest meats around. Butchers were a dying trade, and opened Wagshal's Market in 1995. Ever since then, the Market has been serving up the finest dry-aged, Kosher slaughtered meats available.
