Powerhouse is a historic property in the heart of Georgetown, originally constructed in 1917 and used today as an upscale event venue. First built as a power house for a paper company and later used as a storeroom for the streetcar system, the venue features 30-foot ceilings, dramatic floor-to-ceiling bay windows overlooking the C&O Canal, mezzanine spaces and a tall smokestack. It offers a 6,500-square-foot interior and a 3,000-square-foot patio space that is used for fundraisers, art exhibits, weddings and concerts.
