Melvin Gelman Library maintains a collection of books, newspapers, magazines, journals, databases and reference materials. The library operates a media resource center that houses more than 6,000 products, including CDs, DVDs, cassettes and video tapes. It operates clubs that conduct various cultural and educational events. It organizes a range of programs that includes author lectures, musical performances and reading activities. Melvin Gelman Library also houses material in Hebrew. The library provides a variety of services, such as renewals, interlibrary loans, computer access, printing and photocopying. Additionally, it offers services and equipment for patrons with visual and learning disabilities. Located in Washington, D.C., Melvin Gelman Library is governed by George Washington University.
