Founded in Cincinnati 1895, The National Association of Manufacturers is one of the largest industrial trade associations in the United States. The association represents small and large manufacturers in every industrial sector and in all 50 states. Working with Congress, the administration and the media, the association seeks to focus the nation's attention on manufacturing and its contributions to economic growth and prosperity. The association founded the Manufacturing Institute as the research and education arm of the organization in 1991. Its mission is to build intellectual support and raise understanding among policymakers, the media, educators and potential workers about manufacturing s contributions to the quality of American life, the challenges facing the sector and its technologically sophisticated career opportunities. The National Association of Manufacturers maintains its headquarters in Washington, D.C. and operates an additional 10 branch offices throughout the U.S.
