The National Association of State Directors of Career Technical Education Consortium, located in Washington, D.C., is a professional society of the state and territory agency heads responsible for career technical education. Founded in 1920, NASDCTEc has a membership of more than 200 senior state staff and individuals that work to ensure quality career technical education at the secondary, postsecondary and adult levels. The association is governed by a board of directors comprising 16 members that include one associate member representative and four officers. NASDCTEc hosts two national meetings every year that provide information on legislation, research, and emerging issues important to career technical education. It maintains an active listing service system for state directors, and publishes a monthly electronic newsletter.
