DC Shape Note + Sacred Harp is a vibrant community of singers in Washington, DC and Northern Virginia, dedicated to the art of shape note singing. They gather on the 3rd Wednesdays of each month at Capitol Hill Presbyterian to sing from The Sacred Harp, with loaner books available and a potluck snack to share.
In addition to their regular gatherings, they also organize all-day singings in the Shenandoah Valley and participate in other local sings. They prioritize the safety and well-being of their community, encouraging attendees to test negative on a same-day COVID test and stay home if feeling unwell or suspecting a recent exposure.
