Founded in 1865, The International Union of Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers is a trade union that represents craftworkers in the United States and Canada. The trowel trades craftworkers include bricklayers, stone, marble and cement masons, plasterers, tile setters, terrazzo and mosaic workers, pointers, cleaners and caulkers. The union offers various programs, including scholarship, Millennium Morning Project and Member Assistance Program. Its Member Assistance Program is a free crisis intervention and referral program providing confidential and professional help to its members and their families. It has a job information center that provides unemployed members with opportunities to work in various areas. It has various publications that provide information about union and industry issues. Located in Washington, D.C., it protects the rights of its workers, and is one of the oldest continuous unions in North America.
