Located in Washington, D.C., American Geophysical Union, also known as AGU, is a worldwide scientific community dealing with research on Earth, oceans, atmosphere, space and planets. The union offers a wide range of education and career services programs to expand public knowledge and understanding of the Earth and space sciences and foster a productive geoscience workforce. It provides a forum for the geophysical community through scientific journals, meetings, e-mail, publications, scientific and technical committee activities, and several online data and information services. The union publishes various scientific book series, weekly newspapers and journals, such as Earth Interactions, Geochemistry, Geophysics, Geosystems, Geophysical Research Letters, Global Biogeochemical Cycles, International Journal of Geomagnetism and Aeronomy, Paleoceanography, Reviews of Geophysics and Tectonics, covering various related topics.
