The Delaware Department of Transportation works to provide a safe, efficient and environmentally sensitive transportation network that offers a variety of convenient and cost-effective choices for the movement of people and goods. It maintains the Delaware Transit Corporation (DTC), which designs and provides a range of public transportation services and defines and develops bus and train services. The department s Office of the secretary manages the state transportation system, as well as provides leadership and direction to the department in support of the Governor's Livable Delaware Implementation Plan and Statewide Long-Range Transportation Plan. Located in Bear, Del., it additionally maintains maintenance and operations, human resources, finance, motor vehicles, planning, public relations, and technology and support services divisions.
